– I love to hear the world go by in this confined area. Some people sound like they’re in deep thoughts going in and out of the colleges, some like they’re going from A to B, and some sound happy to have a break. Sometimes I listen to the different voices and what people are doing, for example typing on their laptop keyboard or moving something on a trolley. And sometimes I listen to what people are wearing, especially their shoes and coats. I notice, but rarely pay attention to, the constant coffee shop sounds, like the music, coffee machine, tidying up of cups and cutlery, moving of chairs and tables, etc.
