(E9/10) Walking down Mansfield Road, Holywell Street, and Broad Street
– I love all the changes: first the villagey sound in Mansfield Road – trees, birds, detached houses in gardens, and people playing musical instruments inside the houses. Then the narrow and echoey sound in Holywell Street and the openness at the top of Broad Street – and you can definitely hear why it’s called ‘Broad Street’. And all the different sounds as well: talking, whistling, singing, walking, cycling. Coming down to Cornmarket Street it all changes again and becomes busier with traffic.
